LaRue has gained accolades internationally across both scripted and unscripted content. MY DEAD DAD’S PORNO TAPES, directed by Charlie Tyrell, was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Documentary Short Subject in 2019, while winning the SXSW Grand Jury Award, a Canadian Screen Award, a Webby, and a nomination for the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Short Film. THE AMAZING GAYL PILE (CBC/NBC-Universal), created by Morgan Waters & Brooks Gray, was nominated at the International Emmys in 2017 for Best Short-Form Series while also gaining numerous Canadian Screen Award wins and nominations across its five-season run. The company also has numerous other Canadian Screen Award wins and nominations for various projects including TRUE DATING STORIES (CBC/Fuse) and BIT PLAYAS (CBC/FUSE). In 2023, LaRue released the first ever Crave Original sketch comedy series called THE DESSERT (6 x 1/2 hour), Executive Produced by Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall) and Arkells’ Max Kerman. Feature-length documentary SOMEONE LIVES HERE premiered at the Hot Docs Film Festival 2023 to sold out screenings, winning the prestigious Rogers Audience Choice Award and the Bill Nemtin Award for Social Impact. It has also won Best Canadian Documentary at Vancouver International Film Festival and was named to the 2023 TIFF Top Ten.
